Subterranean termite swarmers have a small all-black body with clear wings. They typically swarm in the spring during the day time. Their colonies can have as many as 1 million termites.

Drywood termite fecal pellets are hard, elongated, and less than 1/25 inch long. They have rounded ends and six flattened or concavely depressed sides with ridges at angles between the six surfaces. Unlike other animal droppings, termite pellets are not smelly or harmful.

A mud tube is made of small pieces of soil, wood, and feces. Mud tubes are most commonly used by subterranean termites. It helps protect termites from predators and dry environments while traveling between a food source and the nest.
